What’s included in an interior and exterior detail?

For the interior, we clean every surface. That means vacuuming carpets, mats, and seats, shampooing all fabric, wiping down plastics and vinyl, conditioning leather, cleaning the headliner, windows, and door jambs. We also add UV protection to preserve surfaces. For the exterior, we hand wash, remove road grime and bug residue, polish paint, clean wheels and tires, and apply a protective wax. Every vehicle gets the full treatment.

How long does a full interior and exterior detail usually take?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the size of the vehicle and how dirty it is. Usually, with two people working, it takes about two to four hours. If the car is super clean, it can be done in an hour. Often we keep the vehicle overnight so it’s completely dry and ready to drive without any dampness.

What are the most common factors that affect the price of detailing?

Accepted Answer

Pet hair is the number one thing that changes the price, followed by the size of the vehicle. Other factors include heavily soiled surfaces, stains, or stubborn odors. Basically, the dirtier or larger the vehicle, the more time and effort is required, which affects the cost.

What’s the dirtiest car you’ve ever detailed? What made it so bad?

Oh, we’ve seen some wild ones! One had mice and was filled with trash, while a few Forest Service vehicles were caked with mud and debris. The absolute worst had mold, old marijuana, and mushrooms scattered across the floor. It was definitely one of the most challenging interior details we’ve ever done.

What do you do if a car has mice in it?

If the mice are alive, we have to give the car back. We can’t risk it. But if it’s just remnants, we disinfect, run ozone treatment to eliminate odors, shampoo everything, and clean it thoroughly. We take full precautions to ensure no contamination is passed to other vehicles.

Do you use protective gear when dealing with mold or pests?

Absolutely. We wear full respirators, like gas mask style face protection, double layer gloves, and all our brushes and cleaning tools are soaked in isopropyl alcohol afterward. Safety and hygiene are top priorities for us and for your car
